Q: What is Rakhi?
It is a symbol of love and affection between siblings. It's a promise to love, protect and cherish one's sibling 🌼
Every year, SaiASmi - Dreamz in Yarn, gives me a chance to play mid-year 'Santa' - to deliver the love of a sibling to their loved ones. Every rakhi is selected, or designed as the per customer requirements.

This year, in addition to making the handmade limited Rakhis, I opened myself up to making customized gifts for the occasion. Some were #saiasmidreamzinyarn favourites and some completely new, designed by yours truly. I will be adding the links to the #newpatterns and where they can be found soon.
There were the multicolored pumpkin key chains and the travel Tic-Tac-Toe game. The Pumpkin keychain is my version of pattern by Cheryl Bennett from Crochet365knittoo

Here comes a sneak peek at the new patterns which were a part of Rakhi 2022!!
The All Squared Up organizer basket pattern is a part of the All-Shaped Up series of patterns. The series consists of 4 patterns - available on Ravelry and Lovecrafts stores.
The Summer Vibes Pouch/clutch pattern is a medium sized pouch with scope to make a larger version. This Pattern too is available in my Pattern Stores.
Custom Ordered Rakhi - that can be re-purposed post the use as Rakhi!
#repurpose friendly Rakhis - in Customer chosen pallette of colors so they can be used as rakhi for the occassion and then used as a practical gift later on!
A Lumba - that was made to be re-purposed into a Key tag.
A Headband - with elastic for a child
A flowery tie - for an older child to be used later as a hair accessory.

All I can say is #crochetisfun and crochet can be therapeutic. Any craft can be be repurposed to make the perfect gift for the occasion. So here is to celebrating the traditional Rakshabandhan in modern #handmade way!
